Hello my name is Mare and I am just beginning on my spiritual path. I am just looking to talk and discuss rituals, and other celebration related issues with fellow pagans and herbalists. Do any of you have a special celebration for the full moon? I am also looking for people to celebrate these traditions with, I don't know any other pagans. Any ideas on how to meet other pracitcioners in my community?

Hola Mare There are quite few options to meet folks in the area who are interested in the same path that you are. One of the first places I'd look into is the "UU" churches. I'm not sure what part of the Cape you are from but there is one in Falmouth, Barnstable and I believe Brewster. Falmouth and Brewster both have pretty active groups that hold open rituals etc... I'm not sure about Barnstable. We at the herb shop hold open rituals on the holidays although I must admit we have been slacking lately. We will pick them back up though beginning with Ostara/Spring Equinox. Other places to connect with folks is through email lists. I can tell you that on yahoogroups there is one called 042MA _Wiccans@yahoogroups.com which usually has a good list of open events and some chatter. The moderators are nice too. I'm not sure if you have looked into WItchVox.com already or not but you can check into who and what is going on in your area on there. In the summer we cohost whats called "Circle by the Sea" at Sandy Neck Beach. Nothing too involved, singing, drumming...kids roasting marshmallows etc... It's a nice casual place to connect with new people and talk in a nice atmosphere. I could ramble more...but I won't. All this being said... I feel that I must say...NEVER meet someone in a non public place or give them your phone number etc... There's a lot of freaks out there with bizarre thoughts. If you are going to connect with a group or people etc... ask around a little first. See if anyone has heard of them. It's a pretty large community out here on the Cape but not so large that most everyone knows everyone else! Also, trust your instincts/intuition. If a situation or a place doesn't feel right or good...get out. Some folks might love it but that doesn't mean that it's right for you. You can always call us at the shop too. If there's one thing we can all do it's talk! LOL Finally, the truth of the matter is "if what you seek you do not find within, you will never find with out". Words to live by.... Brightest Blessings, Michelle
